What Information Does Argsen Collect?

Most information that Argsen collects is used only to help us better serve our members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. Personal information may include name, title, company, address, phone number, etc. We collect this information to grant you access to restricted content of our site and/or for your purchase of Argsen products and services. The personal information we collect is only used by us to process an order or inquiry and/or for marketing our products, events, and services. While we do not sell, rent, transmit personal financial information or e-mail addresses to other organizations, exhibitor contact information for the purpose of promotion is published in event directories and on the Argsen Web site, and is accessible to the public.

If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by e-mail or a special announcement placed on the Web site.

From Visitors/General Users: Our Web server collects the domain names (not the e-mail addresses) of visitors to our Web site. This information is aggregated to measure number of visits, average time spent on the site, pages viewed, etc. PMA uses this information to measure the use of our site and to improve the content of our site.

From Argsen’s Members, Event Registrants & Other Customers: To gain access to members-only resources and personalisation features on the site, members and other users are asked to register and provide some limited information. This information is submitted voluntarily. Argsen asks users to provide their name, member number (for members), organization name, job title and/or function, business phone, and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to Argsen through membership applications, conference or event registration, product orders, subscriptions, and contest registrations.

Additionally, for some e-mails sent in HTML format by PMA to its members through its communications and e-newsletters, we will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that email. For those emails, PMA monitors whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message. Other information collected through this tracking feature includes: email address of a user, the date and time of the user’s “click,” a message number, name of the list from which the message was sent, tracking URL number and destination page. PMA only uses this information to enhance its communications effectiveness and the effectiveness of its products and services and distribution of those products and services to its members. How Does Argsen Use the Data Collected?


Argsen uses information voluntarily submitted by members and other customers in the following ways:

Member Offerings/Programs: Generally, Argsen uses data collected to improve its own Web content; to respond to visitors’ interests, needs and preferences; to improve communications and distribution of those communications and to develop new programs, products and services.

Disclosures to Third Parties: Argsen also makes member contact information available through the Argsen Membership Directory to other members using its Web site and to those who register for its conferences. Members, event participants, and users may request that Argsen refrain from disclosing the data it collects on the membership application form, conference registration form or any other form on which they are providing information; an opt-out box will appear on each form on which a user provides information. Alternatively, users may contact Argsen at contact@argsen.com to express their preferences if they determine later that they do not wish to have the information shared.C

How Does Argsen Use Cookies?

Argsen uses cookies only to facilitate automated activity, store and track passwords, determine appropriate solicitations, and review navigation patterns. Argsen collects cookies on our Web site to capture information about page visits. This information is anonymous and Argsen uses this information only internally – to deliver the most effective content to our visitors. E-mail Opt-Out Guidelines

Argsen Provides an opportunity to opt-out of any communications it sends. While Argsen sends out many types of communications it believes will benefits its members, such as a monthly newsletter, exhibitor bulletins and issue alerts regarding an unfolding industry crisis, members have the right to request to be removed from the distribution of any or all such communications. Argsen includes a disclaimer at the end of every message that says:

You are receiving this message because Argsen believes you will benefit from this information. If you have any concerns about mailings of this type or would like to unsubscribe, please contact Member Services.

Argsen follows the Federal CAN-SPAM guidelines of 2005 and 2008. According to these guidelines, Argsen will not e-mail anyone with whom it does not have an established business relationship. In addition, all commercial email messages to include certain items:
•A “valid physical postal address” for the sender of the message and identify sender and provide notification if an e-mail message is being sent on behalf of Argsen
•Ensure that the email does not contain false or misleading transmission information; Ensure that the email does not include a deceptive “subject” heading;
